1767年，吞武里王朝兴起时，曼谷逐渐形成了一些小集市和居民点。1782年，曼谷王朝拉玛一世把都城从湄南河西边的吞武里迁至湄南河东边的曼谷。他认为这块人工小岛的小型贸易港口符合一切首都的条件，临近水，容易防守，空间也很大，于是他为这个城市命名，称它为“天使之城”，外国人则称之为“曼谷”。
第二次世界大战结束后，曼谷得到飞跃式的成长。如今，马路宽广、高楼林立、车水马龙，繁华异常，已集中了泰国50%以上的工业企业，约80%的高等学府。
曼谷是国际活动中心之一，每年有各种国际会议在此举行。曼谷还是世界佛教联谊会总部及国际亚洲理工学院所在地。

A Long History of Buddhism 历史悠久的佛教之都
Bangkok is the world’s largest Buddhist temple in which more than 400 Buddhist monasteries in size. Bangkok Buddhism has a long history， with a strong sense of oriental flavor， temples everywhere and beautiful buildings， known as “the Capital of Buddhism”.
Among a large number of temples in Bangkok， the colorful Jade Buddha Temple， the solemn Reclining Buddha Temple and the Golden Temple full of the most famous magic legend， known as the three national treasures of Thailand. There is also the magnificent Grand Palace and the magnificent Temple of Dawn， relatively well known.
Every morning， the smoke curls， the bell rings， the chime sound clear and pleasant， chanting voices. The monks and nuns are walking slowly down the street to beg alms house to house， being a unique landscape of the streets of Bangkok.

Dawn Temple
Dawn Temple is also known as King Zheng Temple or the Temple of the Dawn. Dawn’s story began in the city of Temple’s start times， King Zheng expulsed Myanmar military and led the troops down the water flows. When through the Temple， it was just at dawn. King Zheng made the boat stop in front of the temple， ashore worshipping， and later King Zheng accessed the throne and ordered the temple to be rebuilt. In accordance with the situation， he changed the name into Dawn Temple.
Grand Palace
Grand Palace is located in downtown of Bangkok， Thailand， a collection of paintings， sculpture and decorative arts of the essence. 鳄鱼潭位于曼谷以东30公里的北揽，面积约4万平方米，是全世界最大的鳄鱼饲养场。登上走廊，就可一览鳄鱼湖的全貌。游客在观赏了鳄鱼之后，还可以看看惊心动魄的“人鳄相斗”的表演。中国前国家主席杨尚昆就曾经去那里参观过。
黎明寺
黎明寺又称为破晓寺或郑王庙。黎明寺的故事得从大城时代开始讲起，郑王驱逐缅军后，带领部队顺水而下，军船经过寺前时，正好是黎明时分，郑王便令船停于寺前，上岸礼拜，后来郑王登上王位后，就下令重修佛寺，并根据当年情况将寺名改为黎明寺。
大王宫
大王宫位于首都曼谷市中心，汇集了泰国绘画、雕刻和装饰艺术的精华。宫廷建筑以白色为主，四周筑有白色宫墙。大王宫景色极为精彩，和玉佛寺合称为曼谷的标志，是旅游泰国必到之地。
